The blogs evolved from online diaries and journals used after the 90s. Internet users created their personal web pages, thoughts, lives, and social commentary at that period in the web pages. Due to the familiar of web pages and its tools among users, the web pages has rapidly increased.  As a result, it is easier for users to create online blogs and journals.

On May 2oo3, the first version of WordPress has released as a blogging platform. For blogging WordPress is the best platform among the internet. A blog is a type of website where readers can find blog pages entries in reverse chronological order in the site. Usually, it is regularly updated by an individual or small group, that is written in an informal or conversational style.

In the post, post title, author name, published date, categories, tags, and comments can view. Built-in conversation features are available where readers can comment. The conversation can be hidden as per need. Posts can found in archives, categories, recent posts, and widgets. There is a setting option of post to show a limited number. A post can be categorized and include RSS feed. Social media sharing options like facebook, twitter, Linkedin etc also available in posts.

The contents of the pages are static eg. home, project, services, about, contact and more. Pages are not listed as per date created. Normally it is used for information that you want to share with viewers, not for regular update. Tags and categories options are not avaliable for pages.

In WordPress, you can create custom pages using your installed theme which is easier to create. There is no limitation to create pages. Pages are not shared via RSS feed. Posts appear in the post page but you can limit the post as per category.

Similarities between Posts and Pages

Posts and Pages are located in the dashboard sidebar of the admin area. Same items are in edit pages like a visual text editor, the publishing box, feature images, permalink, and other screen options.
